Backgammon (bak' gam on) – The oldest board game for two players, the game is played on a board with 24 arrow-like points in alternating colors. The pieces, usually similar to checkers, are moved in opposite directions around the board by each player based on numbers rolled on dice. The pieces must be moved into each player's home area before removal from the board. There are many variations of the basic game.
